My Life In The Mosh Of Ghosts
Every gig I have ever seen. Forty-odd years of thud, sweat and beers.
Starting in 1977 and currently covering 1984, if you are a fan of Sheffield music from bands like Cabaret Voltaire and The Human League. Or you like Industrial and Post-Punk music in general, there will be something here for you to check out.
I'm Roger Quail, I grew up in Sheffield and played drums with Clock DVA and The Box in this era.
My Life In The Mosh Of Ghosts
My Life In The Mosh Of Ghosts - Gig 47. Cabaret Futura, with Cabaret Voltaire, Eddie & Sunshine, Richard Strange, Sheffield Polytechnic, 22nd May 1981.
Willkommen! And bienvenue! Welcome!
London's ultra-trendy Cabaret Futura shimmies into Sheffield on mild Friday night in May.
Even the presence of local art-house heroes Cabaret Voltaire fails to attract the South Yorkshire cognoscenti.
Roger - still shaken by the Cro-Magnon stomp of The Cramps a few days earlier - remains unstirred.
Also, Charlie Collins and the christening of The Box in The Beehive pub.
Intro and outro music: Simon Elliott-Kemp.
Artwork: Rionagh.
